In the United Arab Emirates (UAE)—including Dubai and Abu Dhabi—and across other parts of the Gulf, unapproved VoIP services like WhatsApp Calling and FaceTime are blocked or restricted by telecommunications regulators. As a result, Botim is the official, primary VoIP calling app used by millions of residents, expatriates, and families connecting between the UAE and India.
Because so much daily family and business communication happens on Botim, parents and device managers frequently need a reliable way to record Botim calls for security and oversight.
The Technical Challenge of Recording Botim Calls
Botim uses secure VoIP routing that circumvents standard cellular call recorders. Furthermore, Android 9 through Android 15 restricts audio recording permissions for third-party apps.
Suraxon's specialized Botim Call Recorder circumvents these limitations by tapping into the Android hardware audio reflection pipeline, capturing high-definition audio from both the phone microphone and the remote caller with zero alerting popups.
